Korean Christian Martyrs’ Memorial Hall opened on November 18, 1989 by the Foundation for the 100th Anniversary of the Korean Church to commemorate the faith and spirit of our ancestors of faith who martyred for the Korean church. Ever since the gospel was first introduced in 1884 to Koreans, it is estimated that about 2,600 martyrs, including Pastor Joo Gi-cheol, have died to keep their Christian faith, and 600 of them are remembered at this Hall.
